The original Victorian school building can still be seen in the High Street. The Victorian school was based upon a foundation given by the Church of England. We are fortunate that the school has extensive grounds which includes separate playgrounds for the infants and juniors, large playing fields, adventure apparatus with safety surfaces and a wildlife garden and ponds.

The staff, governors, parents and friends of the school all work hard to make our school a secure and happy place for our children to learn in.

Through constant and consistent monitoring and evaluation, a broad and balanced curriculum and high expectations the school will ensure the progress of all children.

We aim to provide teaching that engages all pupils in high quality learning experiences within an imaginative curriculum.

We aim to create a purposeful, stimulating, encouraging environment that is safe, welcoming and aesthetically pleasing.

We nurture the emotional and spiritual development of all members of the school community.

The school is committed to achieving the highest attainment in all subjects. We promote the spiritual, moral, cultural and social development of pupils through the ethos and values of the school, the curriculum, collective worship and other activities, such as 'after school' clubs and residential trips.

The National Curriculum comprises a core of English, Maths, Science, Information and Communication Technology and Religious Education along with non-core subjects of Art, Geography, History, P.S.H.C.E., Music, P.E., and Design Technology.

The school has a Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy which is annually reviewed and kept in line with Local Education Authority (LEA) and Government requirements. The Governing Body has a legal responsibility for determining the policy and provision for children with Special Educational Needs. Children are given a differentiated curriculum within the classroom and are supported by teaching assistants to access the curriculum. The school has close contacts with outside agencies in maintaining or extending support provision.

During the year there are various events linking the school and All Saints' Church, including the Leavers' service at the church in July, family attendance at Remembrance Sunday in November, the Christmas Bazaar held in the school, Christmas performances in the school and the church, Education Sunday held in the school, and a Pancake Party on Shrove Tuesday in the school.
